RESEARCHING FAMILY HISTORY

Researching family history is fun and rewarding.

Tracing my family history has been great fun and extremely interesting.

I have for many years, along with my 2 brothers, David and Alan, been periodically tracing the Boydell name. We have travelled throughout the UK, mostly in Wales/Cheshire and have come across interesting people and sites of interest.

One site of particular interest is the church in Grappenhall, Cheshire where the Boydell effigy (Sir William Boydell) the Chancery and the Boydell Window are all situated.
We have a family tree that is also now on Microfilm that is very interesting and dates back to c1180. There are various 'important' Boydells from the past on the tree i.e. several Knights, Knights of St John at Malta (1500's) a Lord Mayor of London and various other interesting people. It's well worth seeing. Should you wish to view please contact me on mbdl09494@cableinet.co.uk.

An extremely useful contact for information on the Boydell family (to the present day) is William (Bill) Doscher from Rome Pennsylvania, he is wiiling to converse with any party who has an interest in either the Boydell name and/or its history. you can contact Bill on WDoscher@epix.net

Research Tips

Be sure to evaluate the source of your information. Remember, you can't believe everything you read!

Remember, most everyone has two family names: your father's, but also your mother's. Don't feel you must restrict your research to just your paternal family tree.
